I’ve received from Kak Aishah a newspaper cutting on the likely things to happen in the unit trust industry. I read it and read it and read it again.

25% to 30% growth for the Net Asset Value of  unit trust this year alone is big. Imagine if you join the unit trust industry at the time when the stock market is about to recover – which is NOW. People confidence has becoming stronger when they see their previous investment giving a positive return. So people will keep investing their money in unit trust.

Among other things that I can summarise from the newspaper cutting here:

1. Fixed Deposits and Savings as at April (by Bank Negara) is more than RM300billion – when this people see the return that Unit Trust can give them, they will put their money in unit trust. So who will they go to. The unit trust consultant right.
2. Islamic Unit Trust Funds have shown a very good return and comparable to conventional unit trust funds. People has started to believe that the Islamic Unit Trust funds are also comparable with the conventional Unit Trust funds. Thus promote Islamic Unit Trust funds.
3. The building of new system to expedite the EPF scheme to invest in unit trust will in turn make your commission process faster. Potentially the sales that you make within the month, you can get your commission in the next month. So senanglah sikit, the fresh graduates atau orang yang baru berhenti kerja dan baru jadi agent tak payah tunggu lama2 dah dapat duit.
4. Not in the article, but I read somewhere, the EPF fund size is more than RM370billion. So if you combine it with the Fixed Deposits and Savings reported by Bank Negara, the total is more than RM670 billion. Is that big or huge? Now, who is going to take advantage of this.
5. Not in the article, but from my observations, many unit trust consultants that are not serious about building their business, servicing their clients are now dormant or they find another business or continue their job or even looking for a 9-5 job again. What this mean to you and me – there are many clients that do not know even the name of their agents and their agents also do not contact them for many months. So apa lagi, go and find these type of clients. Serve them well and you will get more referral from them.

Last month when we were having a booth promotion at TNB Bangsar for unit trust investment, I’ve got a phone call from an editor to write something on building a unit trust business.

As she want it to be quick, I wrote something with the help of Raimy and Syed Ali at the Masjid TNB Bangsar. We submit it on the same day to the editor. Thanks Raimy sebab bahasa power inherit dari 8TV.

After a month, we could not find the article in the said magazine. We thought macam sia-sia je lah kita tulis kat Masjid and guna Celcom Broadband kat situ, ambil gambar consultant untuk bagi cantik lagi article tu.

Last weekend, someone call Azah, dia kata ada gambar I, Raimy and Syed Ali. So we quickly looking for the magazine. Ye lah kita tak pernah masuk magazine pasal unit trust. Pasal dengan Telekom tu dah ada dah masa projek submarine cable kat Pengkalan Balak Melaka.

Whether you can close RM250k a week or cannot. It is all in your mind. With Allah will, human can get all what he wants. Allah is as what you think.

Now, you must find the answer of how you can close RM250,000 in a week.

1. List your existing clients and find which one that you can close for the week
2. List your prospect and call them
3. Ask referral from your existing clients
4. And so on and on….

So try give 10 answers and take action on it. InsyaAllah you can get it.

Surprising to me , I did a short research on the total number of Group Agency Manager (month x) in one company and found out the following:

1. Total number of Group Agency Manager is only 308 nationwide
2. Total number of bumi Group Agency Manager is only 39

What can you deduce from this figure. It shows that 39 over 308 is 12.6%. Imagine there is only 12.6% bumi Group Agency Manager in the company. The bumi market is so huge, untap, imbalance and waiting for all bumi to come and help the potential investor double their money.

Imagine one of the biggest Islamic Funds Manager, have only 12.6% bumi Group Agency Manager. Where are the bumis. Only 39 Group Agency Manager. If you have the desire to build your own business, can you see this huge business opportunity…

We went to Masjid at Bandar Utama for Friday prayer. Me, Raimy and Syed Ali. Raimy nak belanja briyani. Top Briyani in town as he said. From Menara TM Pantai Bahru, they fetched me just to belanja briyani at Bandar Utama. Rasa macam bos duduk kat belakang. Good unit trust consultants.

Raimy saja bawak jalan yang normal people tak lalu punya to avoid jam. Lalu depan rumah Ungku Aziz la, tup-tup keluar kat tol near to Eastin Hotel. Ingat dah sampai masjid. Anyway you all kalau sesat kat PJ area ni, tanyalah Raimy, semua jalan ceruk PJ ni dia tahu.

Sampai near to masjid cari parking, orang dah nak azan ni. Nampaknya kena makan briyani lepas solat Jumaat. I dah cakap kat diaorang sunnah hari Jumaat ni makan selepas solah. Diaorang tak percaya. Dia kata kena makan dulu, nanti asyik ingat briyani je dalam solah. Last-last kena ikut sunnah jugak.

OK why don’t follow the crowd? Masa nak parking, masa dah time. Kereta queueu nak parking panjang, I cakap diaorang don’t follow them, don’t follow the crowd. So Raimy did it. Kita cari tempat yang terbaik untuk parking without ikut orang ramai2. So kita pun dapat parking, tak perlu double parking nanti kena keluar masjid awal sebab block kereta lain. Melepas la briyani nanti. Jarang-jarang dapat downline belanja ni.

Morale of the story here, if you want to get the best out of life, don’t follow the crowd. The crowd is the average.  Don’t be average, be the best. Why don’t follow the crowd. You know in business, 90% of business registered in year 1 gone disappear in year 2 of their operation. Only 10% survive. So you want to follow the 90% or the 10%.

Sama jugak in MLM business or unit trust business or takaful business even in makan gaji (corporate life), if you follow the crowd, you go nowhere. In MLM for example, they said the business is about duplication. I agree. But if you duplicate the 90% people, where do you lead to. You answer. Some MLM leaders don’t tell the truth or don’t tell the whole picture how they can become successful. People start copying the 90% pattern end up average and disappear then join another company then another company.

I bought a report from USA (not sold in any bookstore here or even in US) and it revealed that in business whether takaful, insurance, unit trust, mutual fund, unit amanah or MLM, there are two things that you must have so that you can achieve success. Kalau nak tahu datanglah kita punya training…

I am with one of my friend who is interested to become a unit trust consultant with Caliph Agency.

While waiting for the registration of becoming an agent at Public Mutual Bangsar, I draw a picture of human brain and explain to him about the concscious mind and the sub-conscious mind. About thinking positive and negative. About thinking whether you can or you cannot. Your sub-conscious mind will accept anything without filtering. So why on earth we want to think negative.

I also tell him about the WHY and the HOW. Studies show that it is not about HOW to do something that make you succeed. It is about the WHY.

Have you heard about Tony Fernandez working with an airline before he bought AirAsia and fly high? Have you heard about Ray Kroc cook the burger and then bought McDonald? No right.. They come from nowhere, out of the industry and then fly very very high.

Similarly, whether we are engineer, marketer, accountant or ahlil musik… We can become a successful unit trust consultant if our WHY is strong enough. insyaAllah.

The overly used quotes: “If there is a WILL, there is a WAY”. The WILL is the WHY and the WAY is the HOW.

Yesterday morning we were in Public Mutual Johor Bahru for our Seminar Unit Trust. That was our first time there. The seminar room is at Level 30 Public Mutual Tower, JB.

The picture below taken using E71 that my consultant Raimy said the quality of Nokia phone camera cannot beat Sony Ericsson’s.  I may be agree at the moment sebab tak pandai guna camera lagi. Sesiapa yang pakai E71 tu boleh la bagi tips macamana kamera phone E71 ni dapat memberi hasil yang terbaik.

Can you see the view. We were astonished with the panoromic view from the highest level of the tower. We can see Singapore from there.

I feel like I want to have an office there. It is just lovely to be there.  This reminds me on the Rule No 1 of Marketing that I told you “We Want What We Cannot Have or Don’t Have”. Now, I was hit by that symptom again. Realising that, my mind get back to reality.
