Don’t get me wrong, please read until the end…

Have you heard a businessman that can secure a big contract and yet they don’t even know the 7 Steps of Selling Skills. How do they do it.

No 1 , I guess, the selling skills is already built-in inside their body. They either born with it, or through experience they build it. And they don’t even know they have the skills.

No. 2 if they don’t have the selling skills, they have built a strong relationship with the prospect. And they build the relationship with the prospect until the prospect have trust with them. And when people trust you, whatever you propose or recommend to them they will give attention and subsequently agreed with what you propose.

So in doing unit trust business, for a person who did not have the selling skills like me in the beginning, what you need to do is build relationship with as many people as you can. Not necessary everyone that you meet, you ask them to invest there and then. You just exchange your name card. Build the relationship. Pre-sell them. Learn and practice the 7 Steps of Selling Skills. When they become your client, give extra-ordinary service (easier said than done) so that you can expand your business through his referral and at the same time you can get a repeat business or cross-sell business from him as well.

When you service them well and have strong relationship with your clients, then you don’t need the 7 Steps anymore. It is only “borak-borak, makan-makan and sign-sign”. Good isn’t it. Only 3 steps. Sedap-sedap pulak tu.

Imagine if you don’t service your client well. Then your relationship is what we called janggal. Tak match. Thus it will be difficult for your client to continue business with you. So the key to success in business are XO service and building strong relationship.

A few days ago, I wrote on our goals to secure RM200k sales a week, RM300k sales a week, RM400k sales a week and so forth to respective level of unit trust consultants in our agency.

Today, one of our new consultant surprised me with a sales of RM800k in a day. Can you read it again… RM800,000 sales in a day. Do you want to know how much he earns for that amount of sales? Why I am writing it here is not to boast about his achievement (I am actually proud of him la), but it is to let you know that when we start thinking big, Allah will make big thing come to us. Allah adalah mengikut sangkaan kita.

So start thinking big now. You are worth more than you think. You must open your mind. Don’t let your daily routine en-trap you. Tup, tup you dah nak pencen ataupun tup, tup your age dah reach 35 or 40 but you still dependent on your employer etc. Anak makin ramai. Nak masuk sekolah and so on. Nak dapat extra income kena buat kerja lain part-time. So your time with family dah kurang. Take action now. Think and act.

I just downloaded our CAMS system where we as a Public Mutual agents have access to a software that capable of monitoring our clients’ investment performance as well as agents performance online and always up-to-date.

From the CAMS, I can see my last year 2009 performance. It was the best results so far for me since I joint Public Mutual. My Personal Sales stood at RM3.7 mill while my Group Sales at RM15.7 mill. Thanks to my team, The Caliph Consultants that have really help me to produce that kind of a group sales. As a result, I was promoted to a Group Agency Manager on 1 Jan 2010. And the best experience is taking the award in front of thousands of people during the Branch Annual Dinner at One World Hotel last week. Now, that is history. I think the experience of having the award have given me an additional drive to do more this year.

Moving forward, as a team we have pledge that those who are:

1. Unit Trust Consultant – Agency Supervisor to produce RM400,000 a month which is RM100,000 a week or RM25,000 a day sales
2. New Unit Trust Consultant to produce RM100,000 a month which is RM25,000 a week or RM5,000 a day sales
3. Group Agency Manager like me, I set my goal to produce RM2,000,000 personal sales a month by 1-Aug-2010.  From now to 1-Aug-2010, the sales will gradually improve from RM200k sale a week for April, then RM300k sales a week for May to RM400k sales a week for June. Some people sees this as impossible. I take it as a challenge

If I don’t achieve it, mesti malu punya. I’ve told my clients, they must help me and they will ask me on 1-Aug-2010 how much is my Personal Sales. I also will ask my client on their goal that they have set by 1-Aug-2010.

All unit trust consultant who join before January 2010 are required to submit Statutory Declaration Form (Borang Pesuruhjaya Sumpah) before 30 Apr 2010 to your nearest branch.

What happen if you don’t submit it? You will be terminated and thus all your effort and money spent to take the exam will become useless. And, if in the future you think you want to be active again – may be you have to re-take the exam. So don’t waste your money and energy by only filling-up the form and go to Pesuruhjaya Sumpah. Then pass it to the nearest Public Mutual branch. If you don’t understand kindly call K.Azah 013-3970588.

What happen if you submit it? You can enjoy the opportunity to continue doing the simple business model that can give you time and financial freedom.
