What a shocking news to many that those who want to join as a unit trust consultant must have minimum 2 credits. 1 subject is in language (BM, BI or Mandarin etc). Another 1 subject is Mathematics

So what is credit then in SPM. How do we know that our potential unit trust consultant have the 2 credits. See the grade below:

You or your downline unit trust agent must have minimum BM 6 and Mathematics 6. Beyond that, you cannot become a unit trust consultant.

Thousands of young graduates hit the street to find the job. Starting salaries from RM1500 to RM4000 or even more. When they get tired to find the job, some of them said it is enough just to get the personal assistant salary of RM1000 per month.

Before you do any selling, you must know the product. However many made mistakes that think that they have to know everything, after that then they can do the selling.

No. No. No. If we were to wait till we know everything then, our competitor will eat our portion. Last Saturday, I conducted a training on unit trust product knowledge. At the time of the training we have 22 unit trust funds. Can you imagine a new unit trust consultant has to know the whole 22 unit trust funds. Tiring right.

So our approach then is we tell the new unit trust consultant the three categories of unit trust. And we must focus only a few funds in the beginning so that the new unit trust consultant don’t get confused. For each category of unit trust we recommend the new unit trust consultant read the report of Public Mutual Quarterly Fund Review.

The main ideas to learn about the funds are not to memorise the facts and figures. The main idea is how you paint a clear picture in front of your client so that they feel they must invest in unit trust NOW. And they buy it from Public Mutual. And they buy it from you the new unit trust consultant.

I join unit trust business on November 2005. Of course the preparation done before the November. Part of my “success” in the unit trust business is because I know nuts about what is unit trust, how unit trust works, how to make profit to your client. When you don’t know something, you will feel humble and it is easy to learn.

I still remember, I don’t have complete tools like thumb print pad, unit trust application forms etc. But my desire to do the business is so high. I call my upline and ask her to teach me how to approach client and close the sales.

It was Friday at Pandan Perdana office near LRT. 2 hours training before Friday prayer I was taught on unit trust business. I have not yet sit for the CUTE exam, but because of that desire yang meluap-luap to do it, I push my upline to teach me.

Most people work too hard to get too little. Every morning they wake up, prepare to go to work. Then they hit the road. Traffic jam. Merungut. Marah dan sebagainya.

Arrive at the office 45 minutes or 1 hour later. Kat ofis, nak cari parking pun susah. Silap2 kena saman sebab parking illegal. Masuk office. Tengok bilik bos. Alamak bos ada la hari ni. Then buat kerja sikit, kacau orang sikit. Tengok kerja pending banyak. Pastu buat macam nak tak nak je. Petang pukul 5, prepare nak balik rumah. Kena jam 1 jam lagi.

Sampai rumah dah letih. And this thing will repeat tomorrow, then day after tomorrow then day after tomorrow. Sampai bila. Sampai pencen. Kalau you baru umur 30 tahun. Maksudnya ada lagi 25 tahun la nak buat kerja yang sama.

Tapi kerja yang sama yang you tak suka. Can you do something so that you will love what you do. Can you think of something that can give you more freedom financially dan juga bebas masa.

We went to university for our degree or diploma or even PhD. We did it well because we have to do it. With the intention to get a good job. Once we get the job, we feel lazy. Why. Simply because we don’t like the job. We don’t have passion on it.

NOW stop doing what you don’t like. You have control.

Anda tak perlu lagi tanya kawan-kawan atau sedara mara “Nak join tak buat bisnes unit trust”, “Jom la join I buat unit trust”. You don’t need to do cold call to ask people to join you.

Best tak kalau diaorang yang call you “Hello, Assalamualaikum, Arif. I nak join you la buat unit trust. Boleh tak I jumpa you”. Pernah tak orang yang call you untuk join unit trust?

You percaya tak yang I tak pernah buat cold call untuk diaorang jadi agen unit trust? You tak kan rasa lagi kepedihan hati bila buat cold call.

Sebaliknya, apa yang you just buat adalah tekan satu command dan dia akan bawa balik new recruits tak berhenti-henti siang dan malam. Walaupun you tengah tidur, walaupun tengah makan walaupun tengah jumpa client.
