Top 3 Factors You Need to Know About Sales & Marketing of Unit Trusts Plan

I just came back from my monthly 3-day voyage. And it is nice to see in Google that my blog is still ranked no 1 if the public search for unit trust consultant or unit trust agent. Alhamdulillah.

What I normally learn from my 3-day journey, I’ll share with you. In anything you do in life or plan to do. Whether selling and marketing of unit trust, insurance, takaful, MLM, kambing atau lembu, or to develop your own business etc. To success, it only takes three factors.

The top 3 factors are:

  1. Intention – when there is a will, there is a way
  2. Decision – you have a solid decision to do it
  3. Determination – whatever obstacle come to you, you continue and learn. Do or Die.

The selling techniques, skills and product knowledge are secondary. The inside of you is the fundamental and the most important.

How many business’s faculty lecturer in university, never done any business. They only teach.

How many unit trust consultants attended the selling techniques, motivation talks and the product knowledge but never do sales.

How many engineers, executives, managers, teachers that don’t love their job but still continuing it despite they have an intention to do business on their own.

How many fresh graduates that know it is difficult to find a job now yet still searching for it when the opportunity to develop their own business is wide open. 

Why they do what they are doing. Because of they have only the intention but they don’t yet make the decision. Intention only is not enough.

Why some unit trust consultant became top producer in 2007 but in 2008 do not qualify for any incentive. Because of lack of determination. So you have the intention and made the decision, but it is still not enough. You and I must have all the three factors to succeed.

    I just got back from touring Penang with my newly registered UTC.
    He has all 3 (I supposed) & i’allah… I pray he’ll sustain & b successfull in this business….
    Yesterday, we’re supposed to drive back to KL.
    We arrived @ his uncles house almost 11.30pm (somewhere near Bertam). Waited till 12.30am & his client tak muncul2. I almost gave up. Masuk tido, join my Mom. Bangun at 6.30am, his wife told me that he got the thumb print @ 5am!!
    Gosh… how I wish I can have another 10 UTCs like him!!! :))
    We drove back to KL at 8am this morning 🙂

    So, if it is to be… It is up to ME! or you! not up to anyone else…

    Wow … you have agents nationwide. Congrat. I pun nak agent macam dia jugak.

    I think most of the full-time unit trust consultants wud like at least their agents can copy or emulate the success that their upline has achieved. I am figuring out how and what now.

    i’m just passed mu CUTE exam..very motivated and ambitious. But recently most of my friend inviting and promoting mlm businesses. The reward from that was very hard to be resist. How you manage to motivate your self everyday and we know that malays like to rich in fast way, mlm of course. As for us, we like to think investment for long term, long term that make many of malays or laypeople reject this kind of investment. What is your comment on this?

    All business are good. The one that no good is the people.

    MLM is good also (depend on which company) You have got to make decision which one you want to do. Remember you have two hands only. If you do it part time, you will get part time income.

    Psychologically, people would like it to have things that is faster, easier, bigger etc. To build business, it takes time.

    Why is that you see people join MLM and suddenly boom. Because they have made a big effort previously that they don’t let you know. May be they bring their whole group from previous MLM company for example.

    Why don’t we study the 97% people that fail in MLM. This people think that MLM is easy and duplicatable. But they duplicate the 97% style. They duplicate the wrong group. Therefore if you want to join the MLM, duplicate the 3% that successful not the 97%.

    Motivation? Read book, write, teach, train and do sales. The best teacher is the work that you do.

    Malay like to be rich fast. Not only Malay. But all. If people don’t want to invest for med-to-long term, then we don’t take the money from them. We educate them. Go for EPF scheme, easier and more stable.

    Remember rules of 1/3 of prospect? 1/3 is your clients, 1/3 is not your clients another 1/3 is for you to grab.

    When I was in Penang recently, my downline’s friend from Alor Star called him up, cakap dia da ada Mercedes Mata Sekupang. Baru 5 bulan buat MLM 🙂

    Energy was very high. Cakap la macam mana sekalipun pasal Career as UTC ni… celah gigi je income (dia cakap). I asked him few questions such as:

    1) Company U ni da berapa lama establish. Jawapannya 1 tahun 3 bulan. (WOW! very confidence that the same company will still hidup 20 yrs down the road bila dia retire nanti)… (experience saya… skim cepat kaya ni… paling lama hidup is 3 yrs… then dia akan bertukar wajah yg lain pulak… huhuhu)

    2) Tahniah la kerana berjaya create income minimum RM50,000 sebulan… abg ada simpan duit kat mana-mana untuk keperluan persaraan dan sebagainya? Ada invest mana-mana?
    Jawapan dia… dgn konfiden… pelaburan ada laa… tak pernah pegang lap top sendiri… baru beli 2 bijik… beli Mercedes mata sekupang… hanphone… barang kemas org rumah etc etc etc… & to my suprise… tak de pun mention simpan duit utk keperluan masa hadapan…

    itu diaa… mentaliti orang2 Melayu especially belah Utara…

    Anyway, MLM is multi-level marketing. Jika betul ada barang-barang keperluan yang involve didalam transaction jual-beli… rasanya boleh bertahan lama… macam Herbalife, Amway, dan pelbagai lagi biz jualan langsung ni…

    tetapi jika semata-mata taja orang itu dan ini… tiada langsung melibatkan jual-beli… sah… bak kata downline saya…. “kasik je lagi 6 – 8 bulan. Bila mabuk dia hilang… mari kita datang jumpa dia sekali lagi. Sekarang ni kita cakap ape pun… beliau akan tetap cakap his MLM biz is far far far greater than anyone else”. huhuhu

    Ya sy setuju dengan komen En Arif & Ida. Thinking of positively, mereka2 ini boleh dijadikan prospect untuk masa hadapan nanti, betul tak? Tugas kita sebagai UTC hanya perlu mendidik dan terus berusaha.

    Even dalam ceramah2 dr R.Kiyosaki pun memang menekankan pasal perniagaan multi level ni. Tapi yang penting bagaimana kita berusaha dalam mengejar impian kita.

    I just wrote about the HOW and the WHY in our agency meeting notes. It is also about the BRAIN and the HEART. The KNOWLEDGE and the BELIEVE.

    Untuk sustain our motivation, we must find WHY we do this business. What is our DESIRE. Do we have HEART on this business. Do we BELIEVE the business model.

    Build your business around your PASSION. What is your PASSION. If we don’t have passion in this business, find the one that we have.

    You must face the FEAR of rejection. FEAR is false evidence appearing real.

    Also you must develop your agency. Find new people. They in reciprocal will help motivate you.

    My agent Kak Aishah Top Seremban Producer helps motivate me to do my own sales. When you see your downlines doing very well, you will also become motivated.

    I had some discussion with my best friend last nite, n i asked him how to sustain the motivation..

    he simply said, cari apa yg kita betul2 minat and JGN BERTANGGUH..

    I totally agreed with him, and because of MINAT la i joined this biz..
